What:
A shrub growing up to 6 meter, with wing like appendages on the leaf stalks and white or purplish flowers. The fruit are resembles a small, round, lime, with the center pulp and juice is orange and a very thin orange peel when ripe. 

Where:
  • Native to China, a cold hardy fruits but widely cultivated in Philippines, North America and Southeast Asia.
  • We have one in the farm. Going to add more soon!
Why:
  • High in Vitamin C, also choke full with nutrients and vitamins such as vitamin B1, B2, B3 B5, calcium, iron and magnesium.
How:
Health
Soap, shampoo, beauty product, aromatherapy.

Tips
  • Asthma. Add 5 drop of calamondin with 1 tsp honey. Mixed and drink once a week. 
  • Headache. Eat the skin, raw or squirt the juice to your nose. 
  • Throat infection, with mucus and slime. add calamondin juice to black pepper and drink for adult or calamondin juice with 1 tsp honey for kids.
  • To clean oil residue in cloth, add salt to calamondin juice, scrub it on the cloth and leave for 5 to 10 minutes. Wash as usual.
  • Blurry spectacles. Rub the spectacles with calamondin juice and clean cloth.

Sambal limau

3 to 4 Calamondin, sliced thinly, including the skin but throw the seeds.
5 cayenne pepper
1 tsb shrimp paste

Heat the shrimp paste on fire, once fragrant, remove and mashed with the cayenne peppers. add the sliced calamondin. Add sugar to taste, and mixed throughly.

P.s. Delicious eaten with warm rice, or as condiment from cucumber or raw vegetables.
